Shiza RanamagarSummer Intern

Shiza Ranamagar joins the JobsFirstNYC team as an intern for Summer 2022. Shiza is a junior at Haverford College, studying Sociology with a minor in Data Science. She is a Questbridge scholar and highly involved in her college community.  On campus, she works various positions — as a Biology Lab Manager,  a student leader to support the first-generation low-income community, and she has also spearheaded community building efforts to support students with academic needs for the Office of Academic Resources. Shiza has been part of the Summer Youth Employment and Ladders for Leaders programs since she was 14. In NYC, she’s worked for the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, as well as various nonprofit organizations that serve immigrant and underserved communities, such as the Department of Parks and Recreation, MinKwon Center for Community Action, WhyHunger, and Adhikaar. Shiza is committed to uplifting the voices of youth. She recently shared the stage with the NYC Chancellor of Education, David Banks where she spoke about how the private sector can support the needs of NYC youth.
