Kendrick ArmstrongLearning Fellow

Kendrick Z. Armstrong is an AmeriCorps Public Ally and Community and Education Learning Fellow with JobsFirstNYC. In this role, he will increase the capacity of JobsFirstNYC’s Community and Education Solutions objectives, focusing on initiatives such as the  Jerome Avenue Revitalization Collaborative, Brownsville Hub Collaborative, Bronx Opportunity Network, and Transfer 2 Career Collaborative. Kendrick’s role is through a partnership with the AmeriCorps Public Allies NY program, a federally-funded initiative dedicated to young adult leadership development and strengthening the capacity of community-based organizations. Prior to joining the team, Kendrick was a Team Lead Crisis Counselor at New York Project Hope, where he provided workforce development training, mental health services, and financial literacy workshops to underprivileged populations. Kendrick was also a Student Success Advocate at City College, where he assisted students struggling with scholarship applications, academic advisement, and provided writing workshops as well. He is a recent City College graduate with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in History. He is an inductee to the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship.
