Youth workforce intermediary organizations are distinctive in that they are targeted, and focused on producing direct impacts on young people through the programs and initiatives they develop and support.

Moreover, they collaborate horizontally with their communities to build a system that leverages a range of public and private resources to better prepare youth for success as adults. Intermediaries also build political capital to leverage change at the state and local levels, and they connect the work at the local level vertically to influence state and national policy.
