Adapting to the Future of Work

Listen Up

Adapting to the Future of Work is a JobsFirstNYC annual, two-day signature convening for workforce development professionals, employers, educators, policymakers, and philanthropists examining how we can collectively foster a more adaptive and engaging environment for the future.

July 20, 2023 is a day for us to come together for meaningful discussions and share practical solutions for how we can better prepare young people, their communities, and the institutions that serve them to navigate the evolving economy successfully.

A Convening for Professionals – Let’s Listen Up Together

Last year, our theme called us to “dream up”. And now that we’ve dreamed up a brighter future for NYC’s young people, it’s time to listen up to young voices and act. Adapting to the Future of Work: Listen Up is an incubator for creative solutions driving systems change.

Together, all of us in the workforce development ecosystem must align our voices in service of New York City’s young people to ensure they enter a prosperous future.

Join workforce leaders and innovators at JobsFirstNYC’s annual convening – back in person!

JobsFirstNYC is proud to gather thought leaders and inspired changemakers in person at The Harmonie Club to foster new ideas, explore what works, and share scalable solutions.

Want a peek at what’s in store? Here’s are some of the big ideas and emerging trends our handpicked guests will investigate:

    • Exploring the value of Belonging, Meaning, Well-being, and Purpose across our work and examining how sovereignty and core values can strengthen the approach to leadership and well-being.
    • Raising awareness about the challenges facing the non-profit sector and workforce development, and the innovative responses from the sector.
    • Sharing the most current data on the perilous conditions of young adults in NYC, examining structural challenges they are facing in a rapidly changing economic and service environment, and learning about some of the effective strategies being undertaken to improve opportunities and well-being.
    • Reimagining systems that can better align and integrate to prepare young adults to become financially self-sufficient.
